ScrapeWall
A free plugin that shows you which AI crawlers are hitting your WordPress site and blocks the ones you don't want, with a real server-side 403 instead of a robots.txt line scrapers ignore. It runs on your own server, with no account and no monthly quota.
What ScrapeWall watches
It names the crawlers hitting your site, then lets you decide who gets through.
ScrapeWall spots each bot by its user agent and behaviour, logs every request, and gives you an allow, block, or throttle switch for each one. It covers:
AI training crawlers
GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended and the rest of the bots pulling your content to train models.
Scrapers that ignore robots.txt
Bytespider, PerplexityBot and others that read your "please don’t" line and keep right on going.
Bad bots caught in the trap
A hidden honeypot link no human ever clicks. Anything that follows it gets flagged and can be blocked on sight.
One switch per bot
Allow the crawlers you want, block or throttle the ones you don’t, all from a single screen.
See who is crawling you
A live dashboard shows every crawler hit and what ScrapeWall did about it.
Why it is different
A real block on your own server, with nothing phoning home.
It runs on your server
Detection and blocking both happen on your own host. No traffic is routed through anyone else, and there is no account to create.
A real 403, not a request
Blocked bots get a genuine server-side 403 before WordPress loads a thing. robots.txt only asks nicely; ScrapeWall enforces.
You see the whole picture
Every hit is logged with a one-way hashed IP, so you get honest numbers on who is crawling you without keeping raw visitor data.
Light on your host
Logging is cheap and self-contained. No Action Scheduler, no heavy cron job, no slowdown for your readers.
Free on the WordPress.org directory
See who is scraping you, then stop them.
Install it from your dashboard in about a minute. It shows every AI crawler hitting your site and blocks the ones you choose, all on your own server with no cap and no account.
